Artist’s Statement

Helena Junttila lives and works in Aska, Sodankylä Municipality. She is one of the best known contemporary artists in Lapland.
A number of solo exhibitions in Finland, for example 12 solo exhibitions in Helsinki, and a large solo exhibition Works in Rovaniemi Art Museum 2004.
Several solo exhibitions abroad, including Estonia 2008, Norway 2006, Hungary touring exhibition of 2005-07, Spain in 2000 and 2006, Australia in 2002, USA in 2002, Sweden in1999.
Participated in several collective exhibitions in Finland, for example The Magic of Lapland: Finland´s National Museum Ateneum in 2011 and Art Museum Korundi, Rovaniemi in 2012, Mänttä Art Festival: yy. 1995, 1997, 2002 and 2005, The Snowball Effect, Oulu Art Museum in 2012.
Participated in several collective exhibitions abroad, for example: Tallinn Drawing Triennial yy.
2009 and 2012, Supermarket Art Fair, Stockholm 2013, Rendez-vouz Europeén, Caunes-Minervois, France 2010, Muzeum stredniho Pootavi Strakonice, Czech Republic 2009, Spirit of “North” -project in Japan: several exhibitions yy. 2015-2018, Tokyo Metropolitan Museum 2017
