Artist’s Statement

I started as a painter but soon I got into the world of different materials. At the moment I am interested in various aspects of crafts and found objects: for example I work with manual typewriter and stitching and found materials that are connected to writing. Lately I have been drawing and composing collages.

Bio

Kalle Lampela was born in 1973 in Rovaniemi, Lapland, in Northern Finland. He graduated from University of Lapland in 2000 with master of art (MA). Lampela has worked as an artist since graduation and he has had solo and group exhibitions in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Germany, Austria, Russia and Japan.
