Artist’s Statement

As a sculptor, my works are often based on my feelings and thoughts about our society. The western world is based on consumerism and neverending economic growth. Our way of living treats nature as a neverending source for materials, which, of course, it isn’t. Global warming, use of oil, ecocatastrophes etc. are some of the issues I have commented with my works. Alongside these commentary pieces, I also work with lighter themes, e.g. abstract sculptures and works based on plant-world or our living environment.

As a painter I’m interested in expressing myself via abstraction; the dialogue between composition, surfaces and colours. How rich expression can be achieved with only a few means.
