Artist’s Statement

As a sculptor my works are often based on my feelings and thoughts about our society. Western world is based on consumerism and neverending economic growth. Our way of living treats nature as neverending source for materials, which, of course, it isn’t. Global warming, use of oil, ecocatastrophes etc. are some of the issues I have commented with my works. Alongside these commentary pieces I also work with lighter themes, e.g. abstract sculptures and works based on plant-world or our living environment.

As a painter I’m interested in expressing myself via abstraction; the dialogue between composition, surfaces and colors. How rich expression can be achieved with only a few means.
