Artist’s Statement
My work is guided by curiosity, play and surprise. I like to try new techniques and mix them up.
My artistic work is characterized by transparent color surfaces and delicate pastel tones. I love to play with different kind of surfaces and textures. I work with a wide range of materials and techniques, lately I have been working with painting, woodcut and intaglio printmaking. My printmaking studio is located in Alppila, Helsinki.
I am currently inspired by colors and forms from nature. I am fascinated by the variation of a controlled brush strokes and uncontrolled flow of water, as well as the balance between representativeness and the abstract.
