Artist’s Statement
Valentina Näsi was born 1953 in Ukraine. Today she lives and works
in the countryside in Southwest of Finland. Her paintings are mix of fiction
and reality, historical events and personal experiences.
A spacious light studio enables production of large-scale works.
“Between reality and imagination is the ultimate creative power.
There is an art to everything –in at this time I have my own space
and own independence.
The reason for the picture can be anything: a line of poetry, melody,
forest, rusty piece of iron, the impressions of news.
Naturally, my paintings reflect what happens around me.
More precisely, I splash out feelings using water and colour on paper”.
