Artist’s Statement

Johannes Vatka has since he graduated from the Finnish Fine Arts School Ateneum 1962, all his life worked as a painter. From 1970 and on he has lived in the Capital City region. It has not been important to him to show and sell his paintings eagerly. Still he has had exhibitions with excellent reviews and his works have been bought to both public and private collections. He has painted also portraits of adults and children.
Leaning on professional and private causes, Johannes Vatka has never applied for any scholarships what so ever and never joined any artists' association.
