Artist’s Statement

I use a variety of recycled materials to make reliefs, paper to make sculptural dresses and fabric for soft sculptures. The subject determinates and defines the technique that will be used making the art work. I utilise methods of traditional craft, fabric modification and manipulation. My artistic work includes also photography and video work as well as environmental and community art. I interpretate the myths and imagery of femaleness and femininity and play around with clichés. The current theme of my work is ” Grandma’s house”; a physical and mental space, separate time zone from surrounding world and a place for different ages and cultures to meet and/or clash. I play, wander around and keep myself open for encounters. Through the artwork and the dialog between generations something new is created that will help us to analyse and create structure for understanding the world.
