Bio

Eero Yrjölä (b. 1990) is a visual artist living and working in Helsinki. In their art, they deal with the experience of gender, sexuality and growth. Personal artworks bring out painful, but also insightful moments from a lost queer childhood. 

Yrjölä works in different mediums, especially with installation art. Their art has been exhibited at Turku City Art Museum WAM, the gallery of the Stockholm Institute of Finland, Galleria Huuto and Titanic gallery, among others.

Yrjölä has artworks that belong to the art collections of Jenny and Antti Wihuri Foundation and to several private collections. Their artistic work has been supported by the Finnish Cultural Foundation, Finnish Art Society, Kone Foundation, Finnish Art Promotion Center, Paulo Foundation and Greta och Alfred Runebergs Stiftelse.
