Johanna Pöykkö: Kätketty
Hidden
I think of childhood games in bed sheets, at the foot of a rotating laundry rack. True and false things have been recorded in our minds from the past. What I see now is filtering through everything I've experienced.
With my art, I pursue and work on the idea of protection, the need for protection, territory and borders. At the same time, I study being human in relation to another person.
Some of us are hidden from the eyes of others. Dreams and wounds. The need to protect oneself. The need to hide.
Hidden - the installation is castles in the clouds, hidden dreams, hidden protective equipment. Fellow travellers can occasionally peek at them.
On display at Art Centre Ahjo , Sysi Hall 2022
