Mari-Kaarina Arvinen (b. 1974, Rauma) is a visual artist. She graduated as a Visual Artist in 1999. Arvinen has held several exhibitions in Finland and abroad. She has also made commissioned works for public spaces. Her works are in private collections, museum collections and the state art collection. Arvinen lives and works in Suonenjoki.
In her paintings and the act of painting itself, Arvinen reflects on life. For her, this visual language is a tool for thought. The artwork emerges from a process where the final result is the outcome of a dialogue—a dialogue with the piece itself. Nature, creativity, and organic lines awaken in her a profound awareness of time, humanity, and the wonder of existence. The organic painting process seems to decode the language of biology or the mathematical phenomena of the natural world. Repetitions and reflections combine to form a whole, evoking rhythm, pulse, and the force that sustains all things.
Amidst bold masses of color lie lines, flows, and fragments. They are like promises of hope or grand dreams traveling from memory into the future—built on trust and creation.
