Artist’s Statement

Architectural spaces and structural constructions often appear in my artwork. I am interested in architecture and building not as goal-oriented processes but more as a way of working that generates ideas through hands. The form of my work is mainly based on a constructive visual language. Constructions and structural spaces are signs of my inner imagery and serve as symbols, markings and representations of my identities. I see constructions as allegories of the physical and mental structures of the human being.

My roots are in painting, but my art also encompasses woodcut and imprint as well as various dimensions of drawing. I explore the potential of the content created through printmaking. The process of my practice has evolved into multilayered prints. Through the cutting of prints, my multilayered working method has developed in a more spatial direction. My prints are mainly site-specific installations or comment space. In exhibiting my art, I aim to challenge the objectivity of the work and bring it closer to the surrounding space. The way the work is displayed gives the forms both presence and meaning.
