Bio

Nina Ekström is a multidisciplinary artist and designer.
Horses have always represented a significant part of her life, which is why it is natural for her to depict her experiences and emotions often in the form of horses in her art. She is fascinated by this animal’s wisdom, serenity, primitive strength, and freedom.
In her works, she captures exactly what is meaningful and important in these qualities. The horses in her works are soulful.
Her working method is spontaneous and intense, with a touch that is both strong and delicate. She works with various painting techniques, and her sculptures are made of ceramics or bronze.
