Artist’s Statement
I´m Marika KK, Visual Artist (BA) residing South Ostrobothnia, Finland. You could see me more like hybrid artist, since I move fluently from installations to colorful paintings and from there easily through metal sculptures to ceramics. Inspiration comes from forests, nature and experiencing surrounding life and people, here and abroad. Sometimes I get passioned about a piece I find from flea market. As an artist, I try to capture a feeling and story and bind them with every piece I create. My artist home is located in the forest, middle of nowhere, which makes my everyday life both peaceful and fun. I have had multiple exhibitions here in Finland and abroad. You can find my pieces from hundreds private homes, corporates, textiles, carpets and both private and public collections. My mixed media art book was published in USA 2014.
