For me, making art is a way to structure my thoughts. I search for meanings through a process that begins with an idea. The technique used to visualize the meanings does not matter. Only the end result is important.
The idea for a work of art can start from anywhere. It can come after a long thought process or unexpectedly from an influential visual phenomenon or event. Sometimes simply an interesting and concrete visual observation is enough to form a basis.
My original thought begins to spread apart as the work progresses. It may change completely or partially. Very often, I do not see it as sufficient and reject it completely. I will start over.
Although my preferences often change, I am interested in numerous effects and phenomena: light, shadows, color, and shapes. However, I create complete sets of works to have views from many angles.
My works have a background and a present – hopefully also a future.
