Heidi Linsén (1976) is a textile artist from Helsinki, Finland, whose works combine softness with society's grievances. She is known for her realistic tufted depictions on chosen topic, whether it’s the specific issues homeless women face, the once again narrowing space of feminine expression and being or police violence against environmental demonstrators. Even though tufting is her go to technique, Heidi Linsén does also installations, aquarelles and tapestries.

Bio

Heidi Linsén (1976) is a Helsinki-based artist whose works combine softness with societal ills, universal and personal experiences. The tufted rugs make the viewer stop and reflect on their relationship to the subject matter. Linsén calls her approach soft documentation, working on her subject thread by thread into a lasting, even comforting memory. Contrasts in values ​​as well as between subject and texture are a constant source of inspiration for Linsén.
