My next solo exhibition opens the 28th of May this year at the Höyrygalleria in Korpilahti harbour. It is a wonderful place in the heart of so called Lake Finland. The exhibition is going to be retrospective since I´ve just become 60.

Bio

Art is much about mental fullness. I am close to conceptual art yet not a pure conceptualist since the mood of the work means a lot. Free associations and the element of play open my mind and deepen the art process. I am interested in site-specific art. It started by studying the meanings of my childhood holiday-island. That led me to environmental art. Today I work with a new island in central Finland where I am building a traditional log house atelier from a torn-down building. I see myself as a bridge maker. New aesthetics are being born due ecological problems and the radical changing of the cultural ethos. Art can clean our windows and help open new ones.
