When I start to work, I have some kind of direction... From that, an interesting journey starts towards the finished work of art.
In between, there are purposeful choices and more or less lucky coincidences and mishaps. Sometimes the original direction is forgotten and my hand start to take the paint roller or the brush towards new mysteries.
Monotype as a technique freed me from trying too hard and the need to control as you can never know the result.
Monotype is like a moment already lived, you can never have another one. Me heard beats loud every time I separate the plate from the paper — what kind of surprise — intended or unintentional is going to reveal itself to me.
