Artist’s Statement
Recently, I have been painting a lot with acrylics on cotton duck fabric. I build up the painting by rubbing dry paint onto the canvas and/or by painting several thin layers.
Alongside painting, I also create three-dimensional works, most often by sewing a shape onto the fabric and hardening it with a fabric stiffener. After the stiffening process, I paint the piece with acrylics.In my art, I explore the passage and visibility of time, both in people and in the environment. The significance of the surrounding environment is, in general, essential to my art.
