"I listen to the wind"

10.2-5.3.2024

My work consists of visual wanderings: I chase the atmosphere in the landscape, and strive to let the paintings emerge and evolve almost to let their own, uncontrolled - like pond becoming overgrow of bladderwrack washing ashore. I follow the paths of the colour, clues formed by the dense lines and the stroke pulsating from somewhere, of which I know nothing yet. In an auspicious moment, balance appears in the painting.

The paintings at the exhibition are about the landscape as a scenery, an experience, and a memory. A painting is at the same time a mesh of colours and lines, and of meanings. To look closely at a painting is to make details observations, noting the various shades and the rhythm of the lines and surfaces. It is bewildering how our eyes and minds are drawn to what they reconize, and are able to interpret the percept, even just with the help of very small clues. Seeing in mainly experiental: the body and the mind make guesses based on past experiences and recollections. The organic shape retrieves memories of things we´ve seen before and lived through. With the help of painting, we can see a place we once were in, on get the chance to peek behind an event in the past, in the shelter on dreams an mysterious hidding places.
