My artistic practice is part of my political practice. I view promoting change in society and helping underrepresented viewpoints come to fore as the most worthwhile aims.

Current information

During 2015 to 2018 I have researched the problems of ethical guidance of artistic expression from legal and philosophical viewpoints, and taken an active part in political activism.

Bio

Mikael Kinanen (b. 1989) is a Helsinki based visual artist and a NGO professional. Kinanen has a MFA from University of the Arts Helsinki. In his artistic practice he uses photography, traditions of socially engaged art and performance, and methods from the Nordic LARP tradition.
