Artist’s Statement

In my collages I use a large variety of all kinds of papers ranging from old newspaper clips to fragments of my latests etchings. Sometimes my collages are visual outcomes of profitable dialogue between me and the interested party, e.g. exhibition organizer, business enterprise, art collector or other individual person. This co-creative way of art making I have named partnerism.

In my works I try to arrange the chaos surrounding us in a bit better order. Searching for an absolute balance attracts me and this task of composing harmonious visual music is neverending. I have also developed the idea of expandism in which art is approached as a mental exercise and I do etchings in very traditional way. These are more like meditation or poetry told richly by line. In a way my etchings are marks of honour for draftmanship. Normally I draw whole plate by using only one simple needle from start to finish.
