Artist’s Statement

In my artistic work I often explore the life of the modern man, focusing on body image, identity, gender roles and consumerism.

Attempts to define the line between natural and unnatural is bound to create conflicts and pressures for the modern man in search of identity and purpose in life. These are often the sources of my inspiration.

Bio

Tero Puha ( born 1971 in Nurmijärvi, Finland) is a multi-disciplinary visual artist specialising in lens-based and digital art productions. He earned his Master´s degree in photography from University of Art and Design Helsinki in 2000.

During the past few years Puha has lived and worked in London, Paris, New York, Berlin and Helsinki. Puha´s works have been exhibited worldwide and are included in many museum collections in Finland and abroad (such as Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma, Kiyosato Museum of Photography Japan and Finnish Museum of Photography). His first retrospective book "Almost Human" was published in 2011.
