During winter, the landlocked sea near Oulu freezes over. In the Spring, the ice is so thick one can even drive a car to the nearby island. Many people take their skis and their sunglasses, and ski on the surface of the ice. The sun is very strong - people tan their faces - and colours dance off the surface of the ice and snow. Everything seems renewed.
