This work is a part of the “Flowers and Fruits of the Paradise Garden” -series that I started in the spring 2019. In my art I seek to depict feelings, thoughts and ideas as abstract representations. I seek to represent the absolute beauty of the transcendent truth: the “true nature” of things.

The “Flower of Intuition” depicts one of the skills and skilful feelings I think mankind has had but has perhaps lost; those feelings that people in paradise may have easily maintained but we modern people may be missing in our hectic everyday life. This flower of intuition is actually based on a real life object: in the previous summer I tried to paint some Rose Campion flowers (Lychnis coronaria).  The flowers had almost a transcendent air to them: their deep hue red was so blazing against its grey-blue stalks. It reminded me of the feeling I get when I have an intuitive awareness of something.  I didn’t succeed in my effort to depict the flowers, but the idea remained, and after a few months this work was born.
