Johanna Suonpää: Kattaus | Table setting
The work "Setting"is a collection of objects and materials include disposable tableware, mirrors, crocheted lace tablecloths, fabrics, aluminium wire and shoes. A video was created based on the work in collaboration with photographer Vuokko Isoherranen. The work and video were exhibited at the Vantaa Art Museum in 2008-2009.
The table resembles a functional object, but in addition to this form, its meaning also lies in its content and the atmosphere that is transmitted to the surrounding space. The surface is filled with enigmatic symbols, reminders of archetypal forms, and psychologically effective decorations. As an individual object, it can also be experienced in relation to our human behavior.
