Inari Virmakoski: Silkkii
Silkkii (2023) is a collaboration between performance artist Inari Virmakoski, multi-artist Ritva Harle and composer-musician Tapani Rinne.
The video installation performance consists of a collaborative performance by Virmakoski and the wind, a silk installation by Harle and a composition by Rinne.
The work is based on the longest day of the year, known as the spring solstice. An international performance art tradition is to perform at the time of the equinoxes.
Inari Virmakoski's dance and the air currents that move Ritva Harle's silk installation form a captivating tension. The soundscape composed by Tapani Rinne is in dialogue with the movement and rhythm of the work.
