Marko Acton Saarelainen: Acton / Copenhagen – Helsinki – Outokumpu
Public painting at the center of Outokumpu city, near the old bus station. I painted the wall while I stayed at the Old Mine Residency on July 2020. The painting process was part of the international graffiti event Meeting of Styles Denmark. The event was held from few remote locations as well as on the spot at Copenhagen. The artists who painted remote locations, me included, took both still photos as well as live video of their process and it was aired when the happening took place. This is the largest graffiti painting I've done by myself: the height of the wall begins at over three meters and descends to 1,70m by the other side of the wall. The width of the painted area is a bit over 30 meters. The third "Acton" of the wall is based on outlines by graffiti artist Tazer and paintings from the same letterforms will be presented on my "Who Made Who" exhibition in the fall of 2022. The sketches are also included in my coloring book released the same year.
