Sirpa Jokinen: Järven Valo (Lake Light), stillkuva videosta, 2025

Completion year: 2025
Technique: video, 21min
Keywords: Sirpa Jokinen, Järven valo, Lake Light, underwater landscape, vedenalainen maisema, videotaide, videoart, Galleria HIAP Augusta
The videoprojection 'The Lake Light' (2025) is shot by the camera at a lake bottom. The light reaches deep down. The camera has been taken down from the boat at incidental places, at varied depths and different light circumstances.

The landscape at the bottom serves as a Terra Incognita for an explorer searching for a place to identify within a hazy light filtered by water.

The sound has been recorded from the surface of the lake with self-built contact microphones attached to floating objects.
