The textile work is a treemap diagram of clothing purchase motives. The diagram is based on a sample of 301 discarded garments. The part on the right is a legend to the treemap. It explains why the clothing was chosen. The motives are grouped under colour codes. The grouping is based on the main motives, which are social motives, emotional motives and practical motives. The part on the left is a tree map that expresses the relationship between the motives. The fabrics in the colour codes come from clothing belonging to each motive category.
