The Light nests - series is painted as winter turns into spring. The series records a period of time when sunlight nests only in small spots in the landscape, but increases day by day. Migratory birds schedule their journeys according to changes in light, and some plant species do not develop flower buds until either the light or dark period is long enough. Because light is essential to seeing, it is considered a symbol of faith and guidance in many cultures.
