Artist's Statement
My work is based on a dialogue between materials and techniques. I combine oil paints, collage, and multicolored photopolymer gravure, allowing the painterly mark and the layered nature of printmaking to fuse together. Each piece is part of an ongoing journey of discovery, where the stages of the process spark new insights and directions. In my artwork, I explore the blurring of boundaries and the intersection of nature, cultures, and mythologies. Memories of my travels to Tibet, India, Iceland, and Africa, along with Finnish nature and mythical power animals, build worlds where animals, figures, and stories move freely from one reality to another. At the heart of all my work is the joy of discovery and continuous renewal, which I also wish to convey to the viewer.
