Name: Weight of fabric

In the video 301 discarded garments are weighed. As the weighing progresses, the amounts of cotton and polyester contained in the garments are cumulated. At the same time, the total volume of water used in the production and the fabric weaving of both fibres increases, as do the carbon emissions generated by fibre production, fabric manufacturing, and finishing processes. Water consumption is shown in relation to how many people's daily drinking water needs it would cover, and the carbon emissions are shown in relation to how many 80-year-old pine trees are needed to absorb it.
