Sculptor and visual artist Arja Maarit Puhakka lives in Parainen, in the archipelago region of Finland where she also has her atelier. Her creative works could be described experimental or even innovative in nature, and her interest range from traditional sculpture to modern installations that combine different materials in unprejudiced ways. Painting and drawing has become an important tool in her work, and performance art is the latest conquest in her artistic expression. With a dancer and performance artist Susanne Montag – Wärnå she forms an artist group called Twotoo-Kaksinainen.
In her latest drawings Puhakka has combined the body movement with drawing (Free Line technique) and Cyanotype technique. The technique frees one from the beforehand-taught ideas and gives away to creative processes, where the pictures that are born from the lines create new images and these in turn are in constant dialogue with each other.
