Artist’s Statement
My paintings are figurative, the motifs can be classical such as portrait or still life, or maybe surrealistic landscape. However I keep searching for something, that is invisible for the eye. The inner feeling in the painting has a lot of value for me. In my portraits I always try to capture the soul of the model in the painting.
I am particularly fascinated about music and that is also a repeating theme in my paintings. I derive inspiration also from the forms of nature and traveling. When I travel I always carry a small kit of aquarelles with me, and when I have a chance I stop and sit down to paint.
I didn't ever decide to become an artist, rather I would say, that I was born this way. I always drew a lot and finally I discovered, that the field of arts was the only way to survive in the society, for it was only field where I could have any common ground with people.
The most important thing for me in my art is, not if people like it, not that I would sell my works (which is only great chance for practical reasons, since I don't have a chance to storage all my works), not if I would get any credit or honour, but that I can make it. Painting in itself is keeping me sane. Exhibitions are just a mere excuse to paint more and faster and get things done.
