Formation is a series of 30 oil paintings exploring different types of minerals. Shapes and colours, how the grow. First minerals were formed in space inside the stars. All living things are based on the same kind of parts, different combination of minerals.
Minerals gives perspective to human life. When nowadays so much is digital and everything happens so fast, it is interesting to look at the stones and minerals, which forms slowly and stays relatively the same for a long time. It consoles in the age of global warming to paint them. There are so many various amazing shapes and colours.
Stones and minerals are nature's own art. They are also kind of a natures diary about their surroundings, nutrition available and temperature.
Oil paint is also initially based on minerals and painting the shapes and colours I give them back their original form.
