Sara Ilveskorpi: Gihcigorži-Tears of Fell Malla
The piece is part of my long-term The Acoustics of Snow
project. In this piece, I reserach the process of melting. I
have made the landscape of the Lake Kilpisjärvi
surrounded by the fells on the watercolour paper using
the ice from the lake. The ice melted on the paper for
four hours, forming a new landscape. The piece also
includes a video shown on a tablet device. This makes
the melting even more tangible.
