Vallpiga is an experimental, multiartistic performance, which combines Nordic archaic singing tradition and live drawing. With our instruments, we are approaching the themes of loneliness, contact and human voice. Sound material is based on the Swedish shepherd tradition, songs that were sang at the forests, often by young shepherd girls (in Swedish “vallpiga”). Ink drawings are made on silk on dialogue with the voice.

After the first version in 2011 has Vallpiga has been performed in Finland, Sweden, France and Estonia in festivals, concert houses and museums.
