Artist’s Statement

As a visual artist, I mainly work with acrylic painting and the image transfer method. I like working both alone and together, and I also work as a set designer and costume designer, and I have done teaching work in painting and drawing, as well as illustrations.

I work as whole of several works, and I often combine some poetic text related to the subject with the exhibition. I consider making art to be research work. When I start working with a new exhibition, I start by thinking about what feels important or evokes some emotions in me at the moment. The starting points of my works are often from my own life, but I always want to expand the subject into a more universal research on the subject.

For me, art is about connecting with other people, and something that can bring meaning to life for both the creator and the experiencer. I hope that my works will arouse new thoughts, reflections and maybe also identifications. If my works touch someone, I feel that I have succeeded.
