Art is a journey - seldom an answer
My starting point is in drawing, which I strive to free from paper. I am interetsed in freeing the line and drawing as a spatial element and transporting it to three-dimensional works. I am interested in the surface, the symbolic and psychological nature of the line and the multisensory nature of the material. Character psychology, gender research and cultural sensitivity are at the center of my artistic work. I comment on art history in my works.
Occasionally I work on mutual works with other artists. I implement life cycle thinking in several short-term site-specific installations and exhibition-specific works.
I work in Mänttä and Ivalo. In Mänttä my studio is situated in the Kiusala building maintained by Kauko Sorjonen foundation, addres Kaivokatu 5, 2.floor, 35820 Mänttä-Vilppula.
