In ’I’m ok’ I realize the motive of one photograph with variety of techniques. The photograph represents a woman (who sometimes becomes interpreted as a man dressed as a woman) in a traditional portrait image. The woman wears a pearl necklace that is tightened so fast that her face has become red. Despite of the agony she smiles: ”I’m ok”.

Through the re-productions of the original photograph I explore the theme of repetition. This repeating of the same image is central conceptually in how the different techniques intertwine with the subject matter creating new interpretations of it. The repetition is present also in the ways how the images were made, through repetitive stitches, strokes etc. creating a mantra-like workflow. One aim of this series is to show the hard work that is mostly required in an artistic process, even though it tends to stay hidden behind the apparent easiness of an artwork.
