I Am at the Same Time Both hopeful and Concerned
The crocheted lace murals serve as the basis for stillness exercises. The whole originated from tripartite works. I always painted three nearly identical subjects, which form a single piece. I create repetition in many directions. Individual performances in a series of repeated performances. In addition to the recurring painting themes, the processing of the work material also brings repetition – the pre-work of the painted subject. I made the first fabric by cutting with scissors. It was too strenuous for my hands, even though the simplicity of the method was appealing. Now, I am working on the perforated patterned surface of the works by painting. The fabric deteriorates with a strong painting paste, where the active ingredient is Sodium bisulfate. The degradation of the textile is aided by heat treatment, after which the corroded and burned material is washed away. Thus, the process includes the preparation of the paste, painting, drying, heating, washing, drying, and ironing.
