Elina Strandberg (1955) is a sculptor and painter living and work in Helsinki. She has studied at Finnish Academy of Fine Arts and School of Arts and Design. This year her work is represented in group exhibitions (Arte Coiture, Supermarket art fair, Stockholm) and solo exhibitions in Gallery Ahjo, Joensuu and Gallery Huuto Jätkäsaari, Helsinki.
As a sculptor and painter she often focuses at light. The work of art comes through the working process, with the possibilities of the material or the solutions that the material itself propose. That is why she doesn`t lock the work or subject to a certain use or truth from the beginning, accepting surprises to be a part of the work.
She is a member of the Association of Finnish Sculptors and Finnish Painters`Union and has been the chairman of the independent artist collective Gallery Huuto in Helsinki.
