SALATTU opened a listening room within the Herättäjäjuhlat gathering at Galleria Oiva, Ylivieska, on 3 to 5 July 2026. Thirty channels of sound surrounded a ring of chairs while a generative shadow image moved across the floor. Visitors could enter, sit and remain as long as they wished. During the festival, 2,303 people visited the installation.
The work began with Siionin virsi 100, Salattu voima. Its breath, silence and pressure became material for a new spatial composition. The hymn did not need to be recognised for the room to be entered.
Raudaskylä Mixed Choir carries a local tradition of singing together. Anna Voutilainen-Veijonen's saxophone, Esa Ruuttunen's baritone and a drone recorded from the old harmonium in Jurmo Chapel move within and against the choral circle. Twenty singers were recorded at once, each with their own microphone. The floor image responded to movement in the room, and no single person controlled it.
