RE-BIRTH transforms a shared breathing session into a space visitors can move through. Individually recorded breaths are distributed throughout the room. Listeners can approach a single breath, rest beneath sounding bowls or listen to the quiet sounds of the session’s end.
A suspended loudspeaker column brings together bowl resonances and Hilla Väyrynen’s recitation. NIMITTA, a generative video responding to sound, and three headphone listening stations complete the installation.
Presented at MUU Helsinki Contemporary Art Centre, 1–23 November 2025. The work can be adapted to different exhibition spaces.
