Minna Väisänen: Tilateos Konnunsuon keskusvankilaan / Konnunsuo art project
The Konnunsuo art project consists of several artworks made by Imatra Art School students year 1997. The project is supposed to be permanent and consists of several different artworks: paintings, graphics and photographs.
My artwork consists of both colour and black-and-white photographs and text samples of Jean Genet´s book "The Thief's Journal" 1949 (Orig. Journal de Voleur, 1949). The quotations demonstrate some main points of Genet´s thoughts of criminal life and thieves´ subculture (sorry, they´re in finnish).
My photographs are mounted side by side at two opposite walls.
Other side of the wall (about five-six meters long) is painted with bright orange colour.
